Christmas Illumination 2012 Summery

This past year 2012's Christmas Illumination around Tokyo was actually really good. Many illumination was decorated more light than before and spent more money seemingly. Just one disappointment was Tokyo station's lighting-up-show with Projection Mapping had cancelled just after opening day due to safety reason, but still it's really impressive therefore it's fun going out into winter's chilly air.
There are summery pictures of 2012 Christmas illumination.

Projection Mapping in Christmas Illumination

This year's illumination at Marunouchi will be renewed with a new technology "Projection Mapping" on the new Tokyo station building. These past six years were under the same theme, but this year the theme also changes and it's "Tokyo Michiterasu 2012". It'll start 21st to 28th December, 2012.
Shiodome and Marunoushi
The new technology is now so trend in Japan and interested by many business owners. It's actually innovative and entertaining. You once have to seize an opportunity to see it. At Shiodome, from 15th November to 25th December, 2012, you also may see an illumination called "Lumie's Forest" with "Projection Mapping". At Marunouchi on Gyoko Street has also illuminations. Shiodome has too around the illumination as usual.
You better hurry to check the new tec-illumination in this Christmas season.

Shinjuku Terrace City's Christmas

These days there is a lot of news spreaded about Christmas events in Tokyo. At Omotesando Hills there's already started a Christmas illumination which collaborates with Disney last week.
Shinjuku Terrace City's images
And at Shinjuku Terrace City, which 888 meters vast area in-between Odakyu buildings, will hold Christmas illuminations from 14th November, 2012 to 17th February, 2013. This year's theme of Odakyu's is "Shooting Star". At the theme, 500 shooting star like illumination will be stored at the West gate of Shinjuku station and a "Shooting Star" motiffed Christmas tree will appear at Shinjuku Southern Terrace. Then there are more to come. At Mosaic slope the sealing will be decorated by 35 meter long 23 layered lighting curtains and at Odakyu Department store there will be shooting star lighting show on its windows. About 370,000 lights will be all around the area for amusing you all this Christmas time.
Oh, there are lots around Shinjuku. So, you may feel Christmas delight anyway in Shinjuku.

Megurogawa MInna No Illumi 2012

Last year's Meguro's illumination
These few years in Japan, Halloween is popular and celebrated everywhere. And just after it, everything quickly turns to Christmas.
Last year, a Christmas lighting newly started alongside of Meguro river and this year will be there too. It will start from 16th November to 25th December, 2012 with almost doubled its length like 1,500 meters long and also 213,200 cherry-blossom coloured LEDs for representing "Winter's Cherry-Blossom". However it's not only about that, it's with a trend-nizing idea. The idea is to use "Bio-diesel fuel" for its buttery. The fuel is made from used cocking oil collecting from home and restraints around the illumination area. It's energy version of local food movement. I really think it's great idea and want spreading this idea all over.

After-Mas

Just after the Christmas Bash, everything seems calm and preparing for the new year and, of-course, Japanese Boxing Day, on 2nd Jan. People talks about this past disastrous, harmful and devastating year, and just set yourself ready for the next. That's great because we only can go forward.
How have you been in this year 2011? Is it better than before or not?
For me, it's a recovery. It's a regrouping, redemption and defining me myself, so to speak. Then I'm eager to take over the past and to go towards the next.

I wish you all have peaceful new year beginning.
Happy New Year!!

p.s. There are extra Christmas pics. Enjoy!!

Christmas Illuminations 2011-2012 Part.2

I've been few more places where are famous of Christmas Illuminations in Tokyo. Then, I totaly was surprised by what Ginza finally got better street by street, especially main street "Chuo-dohri Street". There are angels all over the street and in night these wings are amazingly beautiful!! Later, I will post some of the photos.

And from this year, you can do "Hanami(Cherry Blossom Festival)" in winter time as much beautiful as in spring. Tokyo's own popular river side walk by " Meguro river" have started Christmas Illuminations as what famous it is. Cherry Blossoms, as I already mentioned, are so famous at the river side and now you may enjoy winter's too. It's quite something. Just walk alongside of the river with warmth inside that'd be pretty experience.

Keep enjoying winter nights.
